✔ Uniform shirts, pants, sweaters, skirts, vests and dresses under $100 
✔ Accessories like hats, belts, gloves, and socks under $100 
✔ Items shipped within Maryland

What doesn’t?

✘ Ties, aprons, safety vests and epaulets
✘ Alterations
✘ Items priced $100 or more
✘ Items shipped outside of Maryland

Tax-Free Week Disclaimers:

• Tax-free eligibility is based on where your order ships, not where you place the order.

• Each item must be priced under $100 to qualify. The exemption is per item, not per order.

• You can purchase multiple items under $100 each and still receive the tax break.

• All purchases must be completed during the tax-free dates — August 10–16 — regardless of shipping or delivery time.

• Tax exemptions follow Maryland state law, and are calculated using your shipping address.

• Even exchanges (same item, different size) won’t incur tax. But exchanges for different items after the tax-free week may be taxable.

• Purchases made before or after the tax-free period do not qualify, and sales tax will not be refunded later.

• Alterations are taxable, even if done at the same time as your qualifying purchase.

  - Example: If you buy pants for $90 and pay $15 for alterations, tax applies to the $15.

• The first $100 of a more expensive item is not exempt — the full price must be under $100.

  - Example: If a jacket costs $110, tax applies to the entire amount.

• In some cases, local taxes may still apply, depending on state and city rules.
