Tax-Free Week Disclaimers:
-
Tax-free eligibility is based on where your order ships, not where you place the order.
-
Each item must be priced under $100 to qualify. The exemption is per item, not per order.
-
You can purchase multiple items under $100 each and still receive the tax break.
-
All purchases must be completed during the tax-free dates — August 10–16 — regardless of shipping or delivery time.
-
Tax exemptions follow Maryland state law, and are calculated using your shipping address.
-
Even exchanges (same item, different size) won’t incur tax. But exchanges for different items after the tax-free week may be taxable.
-
Purchases made before or after the tax-free period do not qualify, and sales tax will not be refunded later.
-
Alterations are taxable, even if done at the same time as your qualifying purchase.
- Example: If you buy pants for $90 and pay $15 for alterations, tax applies to the $15.
-
The first $100 of a more expensive item is not exempt — the full price must be under $100.
- Example: If a jacket costs $110, tax applies to the entire amount.
-
In some cases, local taxes may still apply, depending on state and city rules.
-
We use automated tax software (Avalara) to apply the correct tax rules automatically
